Our data center business is targeted at direct touch, resellers and solution partners and the role needs to interact on an operational level with each of these key customer bases. This is to ensure that the products and services to be developed meet customer needs, and achieve the correct balance between competing costs, revenue and margin objectives so that sales and profits are maximized.
The Product & Solution Manager has an EMEA focus, and will manage the product creation and lifecycle process leading many teams such as technical project management, finance, legal, sales and pre-Sales, to successfully launch new service within a timeline and manage current services as a product owner. Deliverables will include such aspects as service descriptions, participation in the creation of sales documentation and, most importantly, ensuring that commercial and operational support tools, such as the list of services sold, are kept up to date and accurate with component, business case with financials.
Direct responsibilities will include
  • Expand data center service portfolio through in-house development and/or collaborating with partners
  • Evaluation and analysis of market and competition
  • Full product lifecycle management with relevant departments and individuals, including capacity management
  • Responsible for tracking/ managing product P&Ls and price lists, and make actions to improve profitability
  • Support the budget and business case building activities
  • Engage with internal audiences to communicate features and benefits of the services and products produced and drive new product launches
  • Attend customer workshops; help design solutions supporting sales Solution Consultants
Skills and qualifications ideally include
  • Familiarity with the data center colocation industry
  • Evidence of successful product creation and full lifecycle management and of managing total ownership of the product
  • Ability of preparing and presenting business cases with financials to gain support for investment
  • Confidence and ability to launch a product, or keep an organization aware of product updates
  • Ability of managing product costing in liaison with stakeholders
  • Profound knowledge of general technical and organizational requirements in the data center business
  • Action oriented and proactive with attention to detail and appreciation of technical and financial aspects of product management
